SERVICES Provided

  • 24 hour hotline answered by trained staff and volunteers who offer counseling and information about options and services available
  • Temporary emergency shelter for up to 36 individuals fleeing abuse
  • Four transitional housing apartments with residency for up to two years
  • Protection From Abuse (PFA) screenings and accompaniment
  • Individual and group counseling and workshops for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault
  • 24-hour medical and legal advocacy and accompaniment
  • System and individual advocacy  
  • Assistance to victims of juvenile offenders
  • Assistance to victims of other serious crimes with emphasis on the elderly
  • Community education including a speakers bureau for groups, churches, civic organizations and others
  • Prevention education in all nine county schools
  • Training for professionals (social service agencies, hospital personnel, courthouse staff, and others) - includes intervention practices
  • Food pantry and personal products for shelter residents

 

Services are provided not only to shelter residents but to anyone who is in need of the specialized services we provide.  Services are always free and confidential.
